Hello!

My name is Nick Asper, and I've been pursuing a fulltime career in music for over a decade. I studied Accounting at St. Edward's University and graduated with a Bachelor's of Business Administration in 2017. I've worked with a variety of bands, venues, promoters, and festivals over the years. I currently play bass in and help manage a pop rock band called Colorblind from Austin, TX!

My Story

My journey began in the Houston, TX! As a kid, I was obsessed with music. I started with piano & violin lessons in elementary school, then that eventually led to guitar & bass lessons in middle school. Highschool is when I started getting more involved in the local music scene. I began to play in different bands around town and went to every local show I could. After high school, I moved to Austin, TX to attend college at St. Edward's University.

Since I still wasn't exactly sure what I wanted to do in music, I decided to learn anything and everything I could about the music industry. I started filling in for local bands, working for promoters, networking with venues, and trying to work for whoever would let me be involved. Towards the end of college, I help start a band called "The Night Of", which would eventually rebrand to my current group, "Colorblind". Even though I played bass in Colorblind, I acted more as a manager in the beginning. I booked our shows, ran our social media ads, found our content creators, developed our brand, etc. In our first year, we played Vans Warped Tour, So?! Music Festival, and Texas Independence Fest. Our debut EP generated over 5 million streams, and we were featured on notable websites such as Alternative Press and Loud wire. Even with the successful first year, we decided to rebrand after multiple member changes and a shift in sound. In 2020, we teamed up with Kyle Hulett of Cupid Theory Management (AttackAttack, The Sea Floor Cinema, Outsider Heart) to take Colorblind to the next level! We recently signed to Tooth & Nail / Solid State Records (The Devil  Wears Prada, Fit For A King, Silent Planet)

and we have begun to work on our first LP. set to release in 2025!

I started Creative Catalyst to help guide bands and artists through the difficult & confusing parts of their music career. I want to help bands execute their artistic visions to their fullest potentials. The music industry is ever-changing, so it's nice to have an experienced helping hand on your team. Whatever your goals may be, I'd like to help you reach them! Let's chat!
